Description Between 2018 and 2019, the General Directorate of Water Resources of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and with the help of the Vietnam Water Partnership organised a multi-stakeholder process to develop an IWRM Action Plan. The objectives of the workshop series were to discuss challenges and identify priorities to improve the degree of IWRM implementation, based on the 2017 baseline assessment on SDG indicator 6.5.1. The result is an Action Plan consisting of seven action points to be addressed in the short-medium term focusing on (i) awareness raising, capacity building and behaviour changing for IWRM; (ii) river basin management and cross-border water management model; (iii) improving water quality and pollution control; (iv) participation and coordination of stakeholders. The action planning process was supported by the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme.
