Description | The bamboo nurseries by bamboo pioneer women in 7 districts in East Nusa Tenggara are an important milestone to improve the ecological, economic and social conditions of the community, especially women's groups through bamboo development with the sustainable Bamboo Forest model in East Nusa Tenggara. The activation of the Bamboo Village Initiative Program through Women's Empowerment in East Nusa Tenggara has been running since 2021 which has produced 2.5 million seeds and involved more than 520 women in 28 villages in 7 districts on Flores Island (West Manggarai, Manggarai, East Manggarai, Ngada, Nagekeo, Ende, and Sikka). A total of 1,450,000 bamboo seedlings of the Bambusa vulgaris species were then planted in water catchment areas in Social Forestry and non-forest estate of ??3,625 hectares to rehabilitate forests and land. We are currently working with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing to plant bamboo in priority dams in Indonesia. In addition to the ecological benefits, the number of indirect beneficiaries of the economic improvement from the implementation of the program reaches at least 3,800 people. It will be optimized through the establishment of "Rumah Produksi Bersama" with the Cooperative system. |
